THE STAFF
Pastor
- Richard
Holmes
In 1998, ECPC was blessed when Pastor Rick came to us from Van Wyck,
SC. Pastor Rick has a BS from the University of Maryland; M.A.R. and
M. Div. from Westminster Theological Seminary and graduate training
in Old Testament studies; and from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary,
a Doctor of Ministry degree (specialist track in Spirituality). While
at seminary he had opportunities to teach as well as preach and served
as an intern at 10th Presbyterian in Philadelphia. After graduation
he was called to return to Wallace Memorial to serve in his home church.
We are privileged to be the recipients of his special gifts of preaching,
teaching and counseling at ECPC. Rick's wife Nancy teaches at East Cobb
Christian School, a ministry of the church, and they have three children,
Rob, Lindsay and Elizabeth.
Assistant
Pastor - Wesley
Horne
Wesley joined the staff of ECPC in January, 2003, as a welcome addition
to our growing body. A native of North Carolina, Wesley had a sense
of God's call on his life at an early age. He holds a BA in English
Literature from Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, GA, and a Master
of Divinity from Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, MS. Wesley
brings with him years of experience in counseling and pastoral and teaching
ministries. We are fortunate to have him, his wife, Renee, and their
children, Jonathan, Victoria and Josiah.
Director
of Music & Worship - Paxson
Jeancake
Paxson joined our ECPC staff in August 2000. He is a multi-talented
individual who brings with him a passion for worship. Paxson holds a
Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Furman University in Greenville,
S.C. and has recently completed a Master of Arts in Religion from Reformed
Theological Seminary in Atlanta. Paxson's duties at ECPC include
coordinating the music program for all age groups, assisting the Pastor
in planning and leading worship services, rehearsing the adult worship
teams and occasional choir. Paxson is married to Allison, a former high
school mathematics teacher, and they have two daughters, Laura Camille and Mallory.

Director
of Student Ministry - Matt
Luchenbill
Matt joined our ECPC staff in April 1999. He graduated from Covenant College in May 1998 where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree, majoring in Biblical Studies with a minor in Youth Ministries. While attending Covenant, he served as part-time youth director for St. Elmo Presbyterian Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Matt and his wife Michelle met at Covenant College and were married. Before they came to ECPC Matt served as Director of Youth Ministries at West End Presbyterian Church in Hopewell, VA. Matt and Michelle now have four children, Andrew, Ashley, Sarah, and Emily.
Student Ministry Administrative Assistant - Lisa DeMoss
Lisa joined the staff in December 2007, and has been a church member since June 2007. Lisa has a B.A. Degree in Recreation and Sports Management from Auburn University as well as a Masters degree in Administration of Higher Education from Auburn. She is excited about having the opportunity to work with the Student Ministry program at ECPC. She and her husband David have one daughter, Abby.
Director
of Children's Ministries - Marjorie Swierenga
Marj joined our staff in July 1999. She is able to use her love for
children, her teaching background and her spiritual gifts of teaching
and administration to lead and develop our ministry to children. Her
educational experience includes a B. A. in Secondary Education and a
major in English from Calvin College. Her teaching experience includes
teaching high school and middle school students in Florida and Georgia.
She has taught students with a variety of gifts and needs, including
students in an ESOL program (English for Speakers of Other Languages),
students with special learning needs and adult learners. Marj and her
husband Jon have four children, Rachel, Deena, Andrew and Matthew.
Director
of Nurseries - Donna Minday
Donna joined our staff in August 2001. Donna and Mark Minday (ECPC elder)
moved from Greenville, SC in 1990, and have been members of East Cobb
Presbyterian Church almost that entire time. Donna has served on the
WIC Council at ECPC for five years and assumed the responsibilities
of Director of Nurseries in August 2001. She has enjoyed this
ministry to the children and parents of guests and East Cobb families.
Facilities Coordinator - Cameron
Harrington
Cameron
joined the ECPC staff in September 2003, serving as Website Communications Coordinator and added her current role in August 2006. She has been a church member
since 1991 when she and her husband, Phil, and their two daughters moved
to Marietta. Cameron has a bachelor's degree in computer information
systems and has enjoyed professional experience in the corporate environment
and in church ministry. She served two terms on the Women in the
Church (WIC) council and
served for 10 years on the School Ministry Team of East Cobb Christian School, a ministry
of ECPC.
Nan joined our ECPC staff in 2007 to
develop a system to facilitate connections for members to serve and
belong in the life of the church. Nan and her husband Bob have a
son Jake in college, a daughter Leigh and son-in-law Ty. Nan was a
clinical medical assistant for 15 years and then enjoyed involvement in
school and church life as the family relocated numerous times in the
States. Teaching children and serving in youth and women's ministries
have been opportunities of particular joy for her.
Church
Administrator Lisa Sweeting
Lisa joined the staff in June 2007 and is excited to be a part of the ECPC family. She has over 20 years of office experience. Lisa moved to Atlanta from Wisconsin in 1994. She married David Sweeting in 2005 and has a 9-year-old stepson named Max. They live in Alpharetta and attend Trinity Church Presbyterian, a new church plant in the Alpharetta area

Cobb Christian School Administrator -Teresa
Staley
Teresa served as principal over third through fifth grades at Perimeter
School for two years. She was assistant principal at ECCS during the
1999-2000 school year, and she also developed the kindergarten program
here. During her 11 years at ECCS, she has enjoyed teaching in kindergarten,
fifth grade and middle school. Teresa and her husband Errol have two
adult children, Amanda and Chris. They also have two grandsons.
