Schaeffer describes a moral and spiritual death that subtly suffocates truth and meaning and beauty out of the city and the wider culture.  The answer Schaeffer offers is commitment to God's Word as truth.   It is compassion for a world that is lost and dying without the Gospel.  It is yielding our lives to God and allowing Him to bring forth His fruit through us.  Few who explore these pages will come to the end without having their life profoundly changed.

MEN'S MINISTRY - What is all about?

Men, are you tired of isolation? Do you need a band of brothers to win battles never meant to be fought alone? Do you want that encouragement and camaraderie men were made for? Our men's ministry offers opportunities to connect with other men and find God's grace in critical areas.

We believe Jesus Christ calls men to live in community. We believe the gospel enables men to develop  friendships that are:

  • Enjoyable  After that He went out and noticed a tax collector named Levi sitting in the tax booth, and He said to him, "Follow Me." And he left everything behind, and got up and began to follow Him. And Levi gave a big reception for Him in his house; and there was a great crowd of tax collectors and other people who were reclining at the table with them.  The Pharisees and their scribes began grumbling at His disciples, saying, "Why do you eat and drink with the tax collectors and sinners?"  And Jesus answered and said to them, "It is not those who are well who need a physician, but those who are sick.  "I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance." And they said to Him, "The disciples of John often fast and offer prayers, the disciples of the Pharisees also do the same, but Yours eat and drink."  And Jesus said to them, "You cannot make the attendants of the bridegroom fast while the bridegroom is with them, can you?    Luke 5:27-34
  • Deep  Now it came about when he had finished speaking to Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit to the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as himself.    1 Samuel 18:1
  • Challenging  And He said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men…You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; 15 "nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 "Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.   Matthew 4:19; 5:14-16
  • Guarding  Take care, brethren, that there not be in any one of you an evil, unbelieving heart that falls away from the living God. But encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called "Today," so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.   Hebrews 3:12-13

We offer three types of activities to help you find community with brothers:

  1. Halftimes larger group events which are offered several times a year where men enjoy a meal together, hear a challenging relevant speaker,      "taste" small group interaction, and hopefully leave with new and /or deeper connections.
  2. Men’s Groups small groups which meet regularly and men study God’s word, share more deeply in a safe atmosphere, and become a “band of brothers”.
  3. Service and Recreational Activities Come lift a hammer or a brush in our home repair ministry. Join us for a tailgate or a game. These activities are great times to invite someone to experience Gospel community.
