Gospel Kids is our Sunday morning program for students in PreK through 5th grade. We encourage our families to go to worship together at 10:30am, and then children are given the opportunity to go to Gospel Kids during the offering.

Children are grouped according to grade level in classes where they study a Bible story together, participate in activities designed to draw them into the lesson, and spend some time in fellowship and prayer. These small groups are a time for your children to be discipled by one of our children’s ministry teachers as they pray, think about, and discuss what they’ve learned through various activities and games.

Lower Elementary

Our children in PreK through 3rd grades use The Gospel Story Curriculum to go through the Bible each year, beginning in the Old Testament in the fall and ending in the New Testament in the spring. Some stories are repeated yearly, while others are on a 5-year rotation, so the children will cover the entire curriculum by the time they complete 3rd grade. A team of six volunteers leads each grade level class for one school year, serving in teams of two for one month per quarter.

Our curriculum is produced by New Life Press and is based on The Gospel Story Bible by Marty Machowski. Because all of our children in PreK-3rd grades are learning the same Bible story each week, follow-up for a family with young children is simplified. We encourage our families to check out two companion devotionals-- Long Story Short (Old Testament) and Old Story New (New Testament)-- which follow along with our Sunday morning lessons. Family devotions can connect with Sunday morning worship and can build on each other.

Upper Elementary

Our children in 4th and 5th grades are ready to go a little deeper. Using Foundation Worldview curriculum, volunteers teach our kids why the gospel is relevant to their lives, equip them to identify the lies of our culture and counter them with truth, and answer tough questions about the Christian faith in the safe and loving context of a Sunday morning discipleship class. A team of 10 volunteers leads this class for one school year, serving for 5-6 weeks at a time.

Our Christian worldview curriculum is designed “to train elementary students to think critically, biblically, and missionally.” It will teach them how to apply the Biblical knowledge they are gaining, how to interpret the scriptures in their context, and what a Biblical worldview is and why it is important in the first place. These lessons will take them beyond a head knowledge of the gospel and challenge them to think deeply about what the truth of the scripture and the person and work of Jesus means for their lives.
