Women's Retreat
February 24 - 26, 2012
Join us this year for a trip back to The Dillard House in Dillard, Georgia. Located less than two hours from Atlanta, we'll be staying at and experiencing the Dillard House in the North Georgia mountains. We'll enjoy their famous Southern cuisine in the beautiful and tranquil mountain setting. We'll relax in rocking chairs with a morning cup of coffee or take a leisurely stroll around the property and enjoy the lush green grass and colorful flowers still in bloom.
We invite you to join us for a relaxing weekend where we'll enjoy each other in fellowship while also being fed from God's word, all in a picturesque atmosphere that is conducive to slowing down, recharging and encouraging each other.
Praying Like a Pagan - Moving from Fear to Faith
Our speakers this year will be the duo of Lorrie Deringer and her daughter, Amy Robinson (you might know Amy as daughter-in-law of Debbie Robinson). This mother/daughter team will be exploring Luke 8:22-56 - Praying Like a Pagan - Moving from Fear to Faith. Lorrie plans to share stories of her own fears and failures and what God has taught her over the past decade or so. Amy will gladly interject her perspective - how Lorrie handled it (or didn't handle it!) from her view point. Saturday afternoon we'll have ALOT of free time. Stay tuned for details on the different offerings for both on and off the premises. You'll have a chance to sign up for the group that most fits your relaxation style.
We understand that these times are difficult for some and we want as many ladies as possible to be able to attend this year's retreat. We are offering scholarships and partial scholarships for those who may need help. Please contact Debbie Robinson if you require assistance. If you are in the position to help other ladies to participate in the retreat, please make your donation payable to ECPC with WMT-Retreat Scholarship in the memo line.
CALLING all crafty ladies! If you have a talent for making things and would like to donate one (or more) of your wares for a give away door prize, please contact Mary Jo Napolitano.
The Women’s Ministry at ECPC exists to help women think biblically and live in Christian Community with one another.
Our vision is for every woman in the church to know Christ personally and be committed to extending His kingdom in her life, home, church, community and throughout the world.
As part of the women of the Presbyterian Church in America, we are part of the national organization called Women in the Church (WIC). We have the benefit of being connected to women all across our denomination and have opportunities to share resources, ideas and sometimes even events.
The Women’s Ministry comes under the authority of East Cobb's elders and is accountable to them. As women of the church, we seek to come along side of, support and encourage all ministries of our church, but we also have events especially designed for women.
The Women’s Ministry Team selects a theme Bible verse each year. This year’s theme verse is: Colossians 2:6-7 Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.
We offer many opportunities to not only fellowship and have fun, but also to serve and use our gifts. We want every woman (from age 19 to 99) to become involved at whatever level God calls her.
If you are looking for a place to "fit in", a place to learn more about Christ, a place to have fellowship with other women, here is sampling of what East Cobb Presbyterian has to offer women.
BIBLE STUDIES
The cornerstone of our Women’s Ministry is our Bible studies. We believe that we only think and behave rightly as we are transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit as He applies the truth of Scripture to our hearts. Our desire is that every woman be involved in Bible study, therefore we offer in-depth studies as well as low-prep ones.
Winter Bible Studies
OUR STUDIES WILL RESUME IN JANUARY. Our first lesson will be on Tuesday, January 17th for the evening study and Wednesday, January 18th for the two daytime studies.
